Round 9 of the 2018 AFL Season

We start Round 9 in Adelaide, with the Crows who lost a thriller last week taking on the Bulldogs who have been a lot better in recent weeks.

Home ground advantage for the Crows here should get them the 4 points, so Adelaide by 28 points.

North Melbourne who have surprised a lot of people this year take on the struggling GWS in Tasmania. With Jack Zieball getting off at the Tribunal, I think the Kangaroos have a very good chance of winning this game. North by 15 points.

The Gold Coast Suns take their home game to China this week and are up against Port Adelaide. Last week Port showed the football world why they can shake the premiership this season with great form in the showdown along with Robby Grey in excellent shape. I can’t see them losing this contest. Port by 32 points.

Essendon take on Geelong in a night game at the MCG. The Bombers are not playing the type of football that we all expected them to show this season and with a lot of players in bad form I can’t make a case for them. Geelong by 25 points.

Sydney host the Fremantle Dockers at the SCG, the Swans off a great win last week should win this contest against Fremantle who are yet to win away from home this season. Sydney by 28 points.

St ‘Kilda take on Collingwood at Etihad Stadium and from witnessing St’ Kilda’s performance against Fremantle I would say they are side that’s really struggling to perform with any type of consistency. Pies by 35 points.

Carlton take on Melbourne at the MCG and after winning their 1st game last week the Blue’s confidence should be high. However they are taking on the Demon’s who have won their last 3 games and need to win games like this one if they are going to play deep in this year’s finals series, so Melbourne by 24 points.

The winless Brisbane Lions take on the Hawks up at the GABBA in what will be a great contest and a tough one to tip. I’m going to pick Hawthorn who are playing the better football between the 2 sides and will prevail and win by 16 points.

Last game of the round and it’s a classic with West Coast taking on Richmond – 1st vs 2nd in a top of the table clash. The Eagles will get some handy players back in Naitanui, McGovern and possibly Sheed which should give the Eagles the upper hand on their home deck so I’m tipping the Eagles by 18 points.

Have a great weekend.
