Round 9: Home game for the Eagles

We start Round 9 in Perth at Optus Stadium for Friday night Footy and it’s the WCE taking on the spirited Melbourne Demons who have had 2 thrilling games in recent weeks. The last time these 2 teams played each other was in last year’s preliminary final at this oval and it was a mauling by the Eagles. Expect the Demon’s to not let that happen again and really take it up to the home team. I’m picking the Eagles at home by 17 points but Melbourne will have their moments that will push West Coast.

5 games on Super Saturday starting with the inform Pies taking on St’ Kilda at the MCG. Whilst the Saints have shown improvement this season it’s hard to tip against one of the form sides in the competition. Pies by 20 points.

We go up to the GABBA where the Brisbane Lions take on the inform Adelaide Crows. The Lions have been super impressive this season and I feel the recent return to form Crows mainly from their senior players and there tough defence will be too good in the end. My pick, Crows will win by 15 points.

Geelong are home at GMHBA Stadium and take on the Western Bulldogs and with the Cats recent form they will be tough to beat on home ground. The cats to prevail again and win by 28 points.

Essendon take on the Fremantle Dockers at MRVL stadium and both teams are desperate to get a win on the board and change their recent drop in form. I’m tipping Essendon with Daniher and Bagley back in the line up to win by 21 points.

North Melbourne take on the Sydney Swans in Tasmania and still no Buddy Franklin for the Swans forward line. With recent better form I’m tipping the Kangaroo’s to win this game by 15 points.

3 games on Sunday and we start at the Adelaide Oval with Port Adelaide taking on the Gold Coast Sun’s. Although the Suns have improved this season with a lot more close and competitive games, it will be Port’s more experienced players and home ground advantage that will get Port over the line by 25 points.

Richmond who had a very impressive win last week here in Perth are back at the MCG taking on Hawthorn. While the Hawks had a great win last week against the GWS Giants, the Tigers physicality and contested ball dominance will be too good for the Hawks. Richmond to win by 22 points.

Last game of the round and it’s the GWS Giants taking on Carlton in Sydney, and whilst the Blues were a lot better last week they are still a long way behind a lot of teams. Also the Giants will want to bounce back after a very disappointing performance last week. So I’m tipping GWS for the win.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the footy.

Kind Regards
Jako.
