Round 7: Starting Friday night

We start Round 7 back on a Friday night at MRVL Stadium with Collingwood taking on Port Adelaide in what will be a great contest to watch. Both teams have been in great form recently and are well on their way to cementing a top 4 position on the ladder in 2019. I’m tipping Collinwood to win by 27 points, they have a little more depth of healthy players to choose from and Port will now be without Robbie Gray who is a key player for them.
5 Games on Super Saturday.  Starting with Hawthorn who had a great come from behind win last week, take on the struggling Melbourne Demons. With the spirit the Hawks are showing even with their injuries, I’m still picking them to get the job done. Hawks by 21 points.
GWS Giants take on St Kilda in Canberra, with Josh Kelly recommitting to the club for a longer term, the Giants looked well placed to go on and play deep into September having a very well balanced side. Giants by 26 points.
Brisbane Lions take on the struggling Sydney Swans up at the GABBA and with Buddy Franklin on the sidelines, the Swans just can’t kick a winning score.  The young Lions look super impressive when they run and move the ball with pace, so Lions to win by 17 points.
Richmond take on the Western Bulldogs at MRVL Stadium in another game that I’m looking forward to watch. Whilst I think the Bulldogs can take it right up to Richmond, I just feel Richmond have too many players that can kick them a winning score, even without Jack Riewoldt who’s out with injury. Tigers by 19 points.
Over to Perth and the under siege West Coast Eagles who have had consecutive losses by 8 goals or more take on the Gold Coast Suns.  It’s pretty simple here, the Eagles need to get back to hard, nasty and skilful football and they will win by 32 plus points.
3 games on Sunday starting with Carlton taking on North Melbourne at MRVL Stadium and I’m liking a lot more of what I see at Carlton than I am with the Kangaroo’s, so Carlton to win by 14 points.
A Block Buster at the MCG and it’s Geelong taking on Essendon.  This promises to be a great game in front of 70,000 plus people, and whilst the Cats are the competition pace setters so far, I feel Essendon can get them on this wider ground with their pace and run and carry of the football. Essendon by 7 points in another thriller.
Last game of the round and we go to Adelaide where the Crows take on the Dockers in what promises to also be another great contest. The Dockers are flying and kicking a winning score each week, but with the Crows bouncing back in recent weeks led by Captain Taylor Walker and the Crouch Brothers, I’m tipping Adelaide at home by 16 points.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the Footy.
