Round 6 of the 2018 AFL Season

We start Round 6 after a week of many talking points including the Derby and the Ross Glendinning medal issue which has caused much controversy here in WA.

Friday night footy starts with the Western Bulldogs taking on Carlton at Etihad stadium which will suit the Bulldogs style of play,  so I’m tipping the Dogs to continue Carlton’s losing streak.

5 games on Super Saturday starts with the Cats taking on the Swans down in Geelong.  Sydney have a pretty good record on this ground and I’m tipping them to bounce back, so Swans by 15 points.

North Melbourne who have surprised many this season take on Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.  I’m tipping the Power to bounce back as they are a more talented side and are in Premiership contention. Power by 21 points.

GWS Giants take on the winless Brisbane Lions on their home ground at Spotless Stadium.  After their surprise draw with the Saints, I’m tipping the Giants to bounce back and win this contest by 30 plus points.

Hawthorn take on St Kilda in Tasmania.  After both teams coming up short last week and injuries to both sides, this game is going to be hard to tip.  However – Hawthorn can recover the loss of players better than most, so Hawks for me by 25 points.

Adelaide Crows are home to the Gold Coast Suns and after their impressive win last week they should win this game and win it well. Crows also by 30 plus points.

3 cracking games on Sunday to finish off the round! We start with Essendon taking on Melbourne with both sides a little inconsistent recently – so I’ll tip the Bombers but not with a lot of confidence. Essendon by 12 points.

An MCG Block Buster with the inform Pies taking on the inform Tigers in what promises to be a thrilling contest in front of another 90,000 people. As much as Collingwood have been playing really well and will have moments in this game, I just can’t tip against the form and the way Richmond are playing. So, I’m tipping the Tigers by 14 points.

The final game of Round 6 and it’s the Western Derby with plenty of spice given the controversy surrounding the Ross Glendinning Medal and Trophy issue.  However, common sense has prevailed on a matter that should have been sorted out during the preseason, we can now focus on the game.   I’m going to tip West Coast because they have more scoring options.  Whilst Fremantle will be right in this game, and will look to close it down, I just think the form of the Eagles when they are challenged is to respond and that is why they are currently 2nd on the AFL Ladder.  West Coast by 15.

Have a great weekend!
