Round 5 of the 2018 AFL Season

Round 5 is a Special Round as we pay our respects for all the Women & Men that served our great Country.

The Anzac Round is action packed footy spread across 6 days, starting this Friday night. Friday is a block buster up at the SCG and it’s the Sydney Swans taking on the Adelaide Crows. The Crows who were very disappointing at home last week have received a lot of criticism in the press this week and with injuries to key players I’m tipping the Swans at home by 14 points.

4 games on Saturday starting with the Struggling Saints taking on the GWS Giants at Etihad Stadium and it’s hard to tip against the Giants with the way St’ Kilda are playing! Giants by 26 points.

The Struggling Blues minus their Captain due to injury take on the inform West Coast Eagles at the MCG. West Coast by 30 plus points.

Port Adelaide take on Geelong at Adelaide Oval, and after losing their 1st game of the season last week expect the Power to bounce back on their home ground. Port by 21 points.

Fremantle take on the recently improved Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium. The Dockers have shown this year they are a side that make the opposition earn their performances, so I’m tipping Freo at home by 17 points.

2 games on Sunday starting with North Melbourne taking on Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium, this game promises to be a tight contest as both teams are in good form. I’m tipping Hawthorn as they have made their intentions clear this season, they are going to be a tough side to beat. Hawks by 25 points.

Brisbane Lions who were very disappointing last week take on the Gold Coast Suns at the GABBA and it’s a toss of the coin here, so I’ll tip the home team. Brisbane by 15 points.

Tuesday night footy and it’s Melbourne taking on the red hot Tigers at the MCG in a Block Buster. Melbourne were disappointing last week and their backline is leaking too many goals recently so I’ll stick with the Reigning Premiers to win this game by 18 points.

Last game of this historical round and it’s the traditional Anzac Day Block Buster, Collingwood take on Essendon at the MCG in front of 90,000 plus spectators. Whilst Essendon were much improved last week I just feel Collingwood’s midfield is playing a lot better and getting the ball in their forward line a lot more, so I’m tipping the Pies in a cliff hanger by 9 points.

Have a great weekend and remember to go to the Dawn Service to pay our respect and to remember why we live in this Great Country Australia. ‘Lest We Forget’

Regards

Jako.
