Round 18: Back to Thursday night footy

We start round 18 back at Thursday night and in Adelaide where the Crows off a big win last week take on Essendon who have won their last 3 games. This is a crucial match for both teams, however the Crows at home should get the job done. Adelaide by 21 points.

5 games on Super Saturday and it’s Richmond who are back in-form taking on the inconsistent Port Adelaide side at the MCG. I can’t tip Port anymore due to their up and down season so Tigers to win at home by 18 points.

Carlton take on the Gold Coast Suns at MRVL stadium. The Blues have had their best month of football for some years and the Suns have had one of their worst, so Carlton to win by 4 plus goals.

GWS Giants take on Collingwood and I see the Giants sliding towards the business end of the season and with their star midfielder Stephen Coniglio out for the season I’m tipping the Pies to win by 20 points.

The hot Brisbane Lions take on North Melbourne at the GABBA. The Lions are playing a great brand of football which will be hard to beat on their home ground. Brisbane to win by 5 plus goals.

Over to Perth where there is an enormous amount of pressure on Ross Lyon and the Fremantle Dockers who take on Sydney at Optus Stadium. The Swans aren’t travelling that well either so tipping Fremantle to bounce back and win by 14 points.

3 games on Sunday to finish off the round and it’s a blockbuster at the MCG – Geelong vs Hawthorn. Haven’t theses 2 clubs had some great contests in the past decade!! Geelong to win in a close one by 9 points.

We go to Alice Springs where Melbourne take on the West Coast Eagles. It will be a tricky game as the Eagles missed an opportunity last week to consolidate 2nd spot and the Demons will want to finish off what’s been a disappointing season for them on a high note. Eagles to bounce back and win by 16 points.

Last game of the round and it’s St’Kilda who take on the Western Bulldogs at MRVL stadium. This year on 2 occasions when a coach has resigned/sacked the team has won the following week, however not sure the Saints can make it 3 from 3? Bulldogs to win by 22 points.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the footy.

Regards
Jako.
