Round 21 of the 2018 AFL Season

We start Round 21 with much excitement as we close in on the end of the home and away season.  There is so much riding on these last 3 games for 10 sides who are fighting for a position for and within the final 8.

Friday night footy starts at Etihad Stadium with Essendon still a chance to make the 8, they take on the disappointing St Kilda who need to finish off the season well to show hope for their fans for next season. I’m tipping Essendon to win by 21 points.
Hawthorn take on Geelong in a blockbuster at the MCG in what should be a very intriguing contest.  Both teams have produced some of the best games of footy in the past decade and we can expect this to be the same again. Tough to tip, however if Geelong don’t win this game they will struggle to make the 8 – so I’m tipping the Cats by 8 points.
Gold Coast Suns host Richmond up at Metricon Stadium, the Suns are really not in this contest at all. Richmond by 30 plus points.
Port Adelaide hurting from a close loss last week in the showdown take on the West Coast Eagles who are recovering from the Western Derby horrific fall out. Will be interested to see if the Gaff situation galvanises the Eagles from here on in to the finals. I’m tipping Port Adelaide to make this a more contest game and therefore a win by 17 points.
Collingwood take on Brisbane at Etihad,  whilst I’ve really been impressed with Brisbane in recent weeks, I feel Collingwood with a top 4 position up for grabs will be too strong and win this game by 25 points.
GWS, who have been hit by injuries take on the Adelaide Crows in Canberra.  This game will be a lot closer than people suggest, I’m tipping the Giants but by only 1 goal.
3 games on Sunday and we start with North Melbourne taking on the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.  Whilst the Bulldogs had a good win last week I feel the Kangaroo’s contested brand of football will be to strong and win this game by 24 points.
Melbourne who look like they have secured their 1st Finals appearance in over a decade take on the struggling Sydney Swans at the MCG.  This is a crucial game for both sides. Tough to tip, however I feel Melbourne are now becoming the real deal and Sydney are an aging side. Demon’s by 20 points.
Last game of the round and it’s Fremantle taking on Carlton at Optus Stadium. This will be an interesting game to see how Fremantle responds to recent criticism that they haven’t improved as a football team. Fremantle to win, but it will be how they win that people will be talking about!!
Have a great weekend!
Kind Regards
