Round 22 of the 2018 AFL Season

We start Round 22 with an interesting set of games that will start to shape the final 8 for the season. There is much to play for and as they say, it’s now or never!!

Friday night footy and it’s a big game at the MCG with Richmond taking on Essendon. The Bombers can’t afford to drop this game or it’s season over, however the Tigers are a complete team that’s hard to beat at the MCG. Tigers by 21 points.

5 games on Super Saturday starting with Collingwood taking on Port Adelaide at the MCG. Port are struggling with form and injuries so I’m tipping the Pies by 24 points.

Geelong who are sitting just outside the 8 take on Fremantle. Freo are struggling with injuries to key players so Geelong should get up and win this game by 30 plus points.

GWS Giants take on the Sydney Swans in the battle of the Bridge, it’s a game that both teams need to win to consolidate a spot in the top 8. I feel the Giants pace across the ground will expose the Swans over 4 quarters and win this game by 20 points.

Gold Coast take on Brisbane up at Metricon Stadium. The Suns are lacking all confidence at present so Brisbane to win this game by 21 points.

St’ Kilda take on Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium and whilst the Saints are trying real hard, it’s their skills that are hurting them in the game. Hawthorn’s recent solid form will stand them in good stead so its hard to tip against them. Hawks by 30 plus points.

3 games on Sunday starting with Carlton taking on the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium. With the Bulldogs winning their last 2 games their recent good form is hard to tip against. Bulldogs to win by 27 points.

West Coast fresh off a remarkable win last week with a goal after the siren take on Melbourne in what will be a close fought game. I’m tipping an upset here and that Melbourne will have too much pace for the Eagles and win by 14 points.

Last game of the round and it’s the Adelaide Crows taking on North Melbourne. The Kangaroo’s who coughed up a 28 point lead last week find themselves in a position where they must win the next 2 games to have any hope of making the finals. I’m going to tip the Crows as it’s at their home ground and they will want to finish the year off on a positive on what otherwise was a disappointing year.

Have a great weekend!

Kind Regards
