Round 15: Back to 9 games

We start round 15 with Thursday night Footy at MRVL Stadium and it’s Essendon taking on the GWS Giants. The Bombers are under a lot pressure to perform as a lot of pundits predicted them a top 6 finish while they have been one of the more inconsistent teams this year. I’m tipping the Giants to win because they have shown good consistency in their performances this season and look to be a real force come season end. Giants by 16 points.
Friday night footy at GMBHA Stadium, home of the Cats who take on the Adelaide Crows in what will be a great contest. I’m tipping Geelong, however I will be keen to see how they respond after last weeks poor performance. Geelong by 11 points.
4 games on Super Saturday and we go to the MCG where Hawthorn take on the West Coast Eagles. Nic Nat is back after 12 months on the sidelines with his 2nd knee reconstruction and the footy world is excited to have him back. A key loss is McGovern due to suspension, however the Eagles have enough depth to cover the All Australian. West Coast by 21 points.
Sydney take on the Gold Coast Suns at the SCG and with no Buddy and also losing this corresponding game last year this will be a tricky game for the Swans. I’ll tip Sydney because it’s their home game, however beware of the Suns who have played some inspiring footy this season. Swans by 13 points.
Collingwood take on North Melbourne at MRVL Stadium and by their own admission the Pies haven’t been playing their best football, however they still find a way to win these games which is a great sign. Collingwood to win by 21 points.
Port Adelaide fresh off beating the Top of the Ladder Geelong take on the Western Bulldogs at the Adelaide oval and with Charlie Dixon back playing, the Power looks a more dangerous side with that forward line. Power by 32 points.
3 games on Sunday to finish off Round 15 and it’s the disappointing Saints taking on Richmond at MRVL Stadium. The football world is watching this game very closely as Alan Richardson is under enormous pressure to keep his coaching position. Saints will be better, however Richmond sitting 9th on the ladder need to win this crucial game. Tigers by 15 points.
The very impressive Brisbane Lions take on Melbourne at the GABBA and whilst the Demons had a spirited win last week it’s the young and exciting Lions that the football world is talking about – Charlie Cameron is the new Eddie Betts of the AFL. Lions to win at home by 27 points.
Last game of the round and it’s over to Perth to Optus Stadium where the Fremantle Dockers take on Carlton. With Sunny Walters cleared at the tribunal the Dockers shouldn’t have too much trouble against the bottom side Blues. Freo to win comfortably.
Have a great Weekend and enjoy the Footy.
