Round 14 of the 2018 AFL Season

We start round 14 in Perth on a Thursday night and it’s the West Coast Eagles taking on Essendon at the amazing Optus Stadium.

The Eagles are missing Darling through injury and could be without Josh Kennedy as well, so this will make for an interesting contest. Whilethe Bombers have been playing better in the last few weeks, I still think the Eagles will win, however a few other players like Cripps, Jetta, Lecras, Rioli, Ryan and Waterman will need to step up and share the load. West Coast by 26 points.

Friday night footy and it’s in Adelaide again where the in-form Power take on Melbourne, this promises to be a good contest, however being in Adelaide and the current goal kicking form of the Port Adelaide side then I’ll stay with the home team to win by 24 points.

3 Games on Saturday starting with the Hawks taking on the Gold Coast Suns in Tasmania, this contest is pretty simple the Hawks rarely lose in Tasmania and the Sun’s are just not playing well as a team. Hawks by 30 plus points provided it doesn’t rain.

Brisbane Lions take on the recently improved GWS Giants up at the GABBA. With the Giants getting a few key players back from injury I think they will have to much class across the ground and will win this game by 21 points.

The Western Bulldogs take on North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium. The Bulldogs have struggled this year to put 4 quarters together consistently and even though they generally play well at Etihad Stadium I just feel the Kangaroo’s are a lot harder at the contest and will break the Bulldogs down the longer the game goes, so North by 28 points.

Last Game of the round and it’s back at the MCG where Collingwood take on the struggling Blues. Carlton are a long way from the type of consistent footy that needs to be displayed and with Collingwood’s impressive form over the last 6 weeks this could be another blow out game. We just hope Carlton can be competitive and make a game of it!! Collingwood by 30 plus points providing it’s clear weather in Melbourne on Sunday.

Have a great weekend!
