Round 23 and Final round of the 2017 AFL Season.
Aug 24th, 2017
Well what a great and exciting season it’s been and the final round will promises to deliver more of the same as the top 2, top 4 and top 8 are still to be decided and settled before the finals start.
We start Friday night footy at Etihad Stadium and it’s the Hawks taking on the Bulldogs and the reigning premiers who will miss the 8 this season which is a big shock to us all. The Dogs have been to inconsistent this year so I’m tipping the Hawks to win this game.
5 games on Saturday starting with 2 old rivals in Collingwood taking on Melbourne at the MCG and the Demon’s need to win and win well to consolidate their position in the top 8 and higher in order to get a home final so Melbourne to win.
We go up to the GABBA and it’s the battle of the wooden spoon and the 1st draft pick at seasons end. I like the young Lions in recent weeks they have showed a good energy and with that I’m tipping them to win.
The Swans host Carlton at the SCG and Sydney need to win if there any chance of a top 4 position so Swans to win on their home ground.
A Block Buster Game where Geelong host the Giants at Simmons Stadium and I watched the Giants last week against the Eagles and they have in recent weeks been getting their best players back and playing better as each week goes so I’m tipping the Giants to win this game which will secure them a top 2 position.
We head to Adelaide where the Power take on the Suns and this will be a straight forward win to the Power as the Suns are a club in disarray plus the Power are striving for a top 4 finish.
3 games on Sunday to finish off the round and we start with Essendon taking of the struggling Dockers at Etihad Stadium and if the Bombers win and win well they play finals so Bombers to win.
Richmond take on St’ Kilda at the MCG and the Saints beat the Tigers only recently by a convincing performance however the Tiger also holding onto a top 4 position are in pretty good form so I’m staying with the Tigers to win.
Last game of the round and the West Coast Eagles take on top of the table the Adelaide Crows and the Eagles need to win and win well and hope that Essendon or Melbourne loose to make this years finals. I recon the Eagles will win and to farewell Subiaco Oval however it won’t be enough to make the finals.
To Everyone involved with West Coast Poly thanks you for your support to a great Western Australian Company and I look forward to working with you all in 2018.
