Round 18 - The Business Part of the Season!!
Jul 19th, 2017
We start on a Friday night with a Blockbuster the Adelaide Crows hosting Geelong in what will be a cracking game. Stars a plenty on both teams and this game will be a brutal game, I feel Adelaide have a few more players who can run and use the ball better across the ground and being at their home surface I’m tipping the Crows by 15 points.
Essendon who are looking to stake a claim for the top 8 take on the struggling North Melbourne Kangaroo’s. Essendon’s have more goal kickers that are in form so I’m tipping the Bombers by 26 points.
Melbourne take on Port Adelaide at the MCG in another tough contest. I’m tipping Port Adelaide because of their recent form and because they are running games out much better than the opposition.
Western Bulldogs travel to Cairns and take on the Gold Coast Suns and looked to play some better football last week however the Suns are slowly starting to stay in games for longer periods of time. This is a game that if either side is off by 5% then the opposition will take full advantage of it I’m tipping the Bulldogs by 21 points.
The inform Swans take on St’ Kilda at the SCG and the Saints were disappointing last week and with that continued hot & cold form I’m tipping the Swans to win on their home ground.
Fremantle take on the Hawks in Perth and after watching Fremantle 1st hand last week with one of the worst displays of skills and with the recent form revival of the Hawks this promises to be an interesting contest!! Can Freo bounce back and show some of that early season form or will the Hawks who are still a very good skilled side take the points?? I’m tipping the Hawks on the basis they use the ball better as a side.
3 games on Sunday starting with Richmond taking on the GWS Giants at the MCG and this is a big test for GWS as they have the best talented team in the AFL however this season they have lost some of the bigger tested games. I’m tipping the Giants as it’s time to show that they are more than just a super talented team.
Collingwood take on the West Coast Eagles at Etihad Stadium in what will be a close game. Even though the Pies will be without Pendlebury they will take it right up to West Coast who are just hanging on in the top 8. It’s crunch time for both teams so I’ll tip the Eagles as they have had some good wins this year at Etihad.
Last game of the Round and it’s the Brisbane Lions taking on the Blues at the GABBA. Whilst these 2 teams are at the bottom end of the ladder they both have a lot of young players on display that will be very good players in the future. I’ll tip the home side in Brisbane.
Have a great weekend!!
