Decide where to place your water tank
Follow these simple steps
• Select a smooth, firm, level surface on which to site the water tank (paving, concrete and sand are all suitable).
• When selecting a site to place your water tank also give consideration to maximising the best possible position to capture water from your roof area
• Ensure the roof, gutters and downpipes in the catchment area are clean and free from depressions that may hold leaves, dirt or stale water. There are a number of accessories such leaf strainers and water diverters that assist in this area. (See accessories).
• The downpipe from the gutter must be on a gradual (3% or greater) slope to the inlet which is the leafstrainer on the roof of the water tank.
• Additional piping can be connected to the overflow to direct excess water away from the water tank or alternatively install the inlet pipe so that it can shut-off when the tank is full.
• For the urban range of water tanks, a handyman or DIY person can easily set - up the tank. If you would like the tank installed ring your local plumber or contact us at West Coast Poly and we can supply names of installers that are familiar with our products.
